that focus on developing the musical competencies required by the Ontario curriculum.
The company assists teachers in getting to a good comfort level with music instruction,
making it a fun experience.
Junior Kindergarten to Grade 3 teachers will learn fun ways to develop the children’s abilities with games and activities that students will
want to repeat again and again. Four to eight year old children are particularly receptive to musical exploration, and are therefore the perfect
age group for a positive musical experience. In a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, teachers will:
- Understand the musical capacities and limitations of their students.
- Learn a varied répertoire of musical activities.
- Explore the basic musical concepts such as beat, pitch, dynamics and tone colour.
- Acquire the level of comfort required to guide students musically.
Each workshop includes a training kit with an overview of the proposed educational approach,
a repertoire of activities, and a cd compilation of various musical pieces.
Teacher training sessions are offered in three hour workshops, for groups of up to 10 teachers.
